how would one attach an amp to the standard headunit of the yaris guys? i tried the posts before but cant find a remote connection.

I would imagine you need an amp with high level imputs which just uses the speaker output as the input, as opposed to the phono input!

I used this in my old car and it was pants!!

My advice would be to just get an aftermarket HU as it will save alot of hassle/look better/sound ALOT better/easier to install and you will probably do it in the future anyway!

My mate has just had a 15" 2400W Lanzar sub fitted in his RS with a Mac Audio amp. This is connected to the standard hu and it sounds awesome!

you use RCA convertors, You split the speaker wire, wire up the rca convertor and you have speaker wire with preout type connection

where did he hook up the remote connection from amp though?

The remote on an amp should be wired to an ignition live, ie a wire that becomes live when the ignition is switched on.

Try tracing through the wires with a multimeter or even one of those screw drivers with the earth lead and a bulb that lights up when its a live circuit?
