Right, the time has come to fit an induction kit, but i am not sure which one to choose.

<_<

I have an '87 Gti...

Looked at Fensport and others and found this site... its linked with RamAir...

http://www.raidhp.co.uk/

Unfortunaelty i couldn't do a direct link, but if you go to the site then click on 'Performance Filters' then 'Performance Kits' you should be able to see the kit i'm on about. Looks pretty good, though a little pricey at £94.

Anybody ever used one of these before? I want a cone filter, but am a little worried that it will take in too much hot air from the engine, anybody got recommendations of induction kits for the T-Vis engine?

Thanks

:D

Hey mate

Good timing, cus yesterday i actually took off my Ractive Cone air filter with a 3" pipe which went to the front, and im LOVING IT!!! i counted a 0-60 in roughly 7.5secs when it was standard completely, this went to around 8.5 at best when it was all set up correctly with a stainless mongoose Zorst system, and it DRANK like hell!!!!

NOW that ive gone back, the petrol needle seems to calmed down a littleas i took it for a Thrash and it wernt as bad as prior!

That standard Air box brings LOTS of cold air, and when you loose the sensors, its Affects bigtime!!! on standard it is VERY good in the early rev range but at the top it needs little looseing up, so what im guna do is get a 50mm silicone pipe and attach the air filter to the hose inside the box, as that way all the sensors are on, and i get the best form of cold air flow and an induction kit!

Changing Air filter not worth it!!! all the hot air under your bonnet will end up inside your air filter which will SLOOOW you down!!

That sounds like a good idea mate

When I bought the car, the previous owner had cut a section off the air box (away from the engine at least) to improve airflow. But i'm a bit worried the air filter will need changing more often as all the cr*p off the roads will get in. Should I just check the state of the filter more often?

Cheers
