Guys,

had a look on the forum regarding this problem (the sportif 4efe, is drinking fuel and is running rich). Everyone says to change the temp sensor, but where is the temp sensor?? please drop some pics for me (please....) need to get this sorted asap. would reseting the ECU (i'm guessing this can be done by unpluging the Battery for 5 mins??)

thanks guys..

water temperature sensors are on the thermostat housing which is below the distributor

air temperature sender is usually on the airbox.

dicky thermostat can also give troubles.

ok i'll have a look at those options, so you reckon that reseting the ecu won't do much??

it depends. people recommend resetting the ECU after intake or engine mods & some recommend every now & again.

usually resetting the ECU needs the terminals unplugged & the brake pedal held down for 30 sec to drain the rest of the power.

you can remove the EFI fuse for 30 seconds, this preserves radio settings.

as far as i know ( i was at work) they did a emissons test, checked each cylinder. pluse voltage, reset the ecu, engine flush and a small drive round the block (as i said good bunch of guys, did all the work for £20 last minute drop off! can't complain...)
