Corolla Headunit Problem

Hello.

Please forgive my English.

I have a Corolla 2004 Sedan (4D) 1.4 lt. (Buy at Nov 2004)

I have the following problem

The headunit with the cd-player on my rolla is loose and it sticks out from the rest of the cars panel.

The Toyota Official Service Dealer have already replaced all the top cover of the panel. The problem with the headunti was repaired for about two weeks but with the heat of the Summer the headunit was again un-fitted.

I will go again to the Toyota Service and ask them to repair the problem but it seems that the people to Toyota know less from abot how to repair it.

I thinking on repairing the problem myself.

Any one that had the same problem and have it fixed.

Please tell me the parts that were replaced so i will ask my Toyota Dealer to replace them to my too.

Thank you

This is a design fault that Toyota knows about

It's something that the E12's suffer with.

There's not much you can do with it, apart from keep pushing it back in.

It's something i keep having to do to myself in my car, which can be a bit annoying :ffs:

I have seen an istruction by Toyota on how to repair the gap between the headunit and the upper cover of the panel.

The radio-cd player base have 4 metal ears that are over it. The angle of the metal ears relatively to the base is 90 degrees. If this angle is changed to 75 degrees the front of the cd-player unit will be a bit higher and the gap will be smaler (unfortunatelly a small gap will be created on the botton of the cd-player).

Plus on the above i am thinking on replacing the clips that are holding the headunit to the panel. (Yellow clips on the top of the headunit vents cover)

Where i can find the base and cover you have put in your car to change the standard cd-player with a sony ?

Thanks

Yeah i'm the same T128, would like to know more about these clips

It's something that needed to be replaced on my facial, but as i've got my own H/U in there, they won't replace it, but i'm hoping i can buy it separately
