Isn't it up to 93 where you will need you cat? Not sure but for safety i would just put the cat back on mate and once you have got your mot take it back off again

On 1 January 1996 petrol engine vehicles equipped with catalytic converters and

registered after 1 August 1992 became subject to the new CAT emissions test as part of the MoT. Only Green MoT stations may carry out these tests. Those vehicles registered prior to 1 August 1992 fitted with CATs are not subject to the MoT CAT emissions test. There are some vehicles registered during 1993 and 1994 which may not be catalyst equipped.

Taken from HERE

Find a 'friendly' MOT centre. ;) You might just be able to scrape through without the cat, if you make sure the engine and exhaust are seriously hot. Give it a good thrashing before you arrive, and ask them to check the emissions first, before it has time to cool down. Even doing that, you would still be lucky to get a pass.

Ah right not good then lol, Havn't got the cat didn't come with the car <_< , MOT runs out on wednesday too. Gonna take it to some smaller local garages maybe they're let it go through.

Try and find one where the mechs are into modded cars. They`ll be more sympathetic to your plight.

I'd just pick one that does free retests, then talk to them if they do fail it you've got the following options:

find someone else who puts their cat on once a year and borrow theirs

get one from a breakers yard for about £20

Buy an aftermarket Cat for around £99 (might be more for yours??)

Have a look on eBay and see if any for other cars could be bodged in for the MOT:

Dakari is right. Just done about MOTS at college. They've all changed now. There not hand written out anymore like thayt used to be. All the info is put into a computer and it generates a bar code that gets printed on the MOT cert.

My pug last year failed as i had a de-cat pipe, but as the tester new my dad he put it through for me.

But VOSA are cracking down on dodgy MOT centers.
