2zz Engine Oil...

Hi Guys,

Got no response in the Corolla section, so posting here to see if I get any help...

Which grade of oil do I need for my CTS? Is it 5-40, 10-40?

I would normally use 10-40 in my previous cars, but as this is a little different, I'm not sure...

Oh - I would have a look at the manual, if my car came with one :!Removed!:

Any help appreciated.

Steve

  • 2 weeks later...

5w-40 would be better than 10w-40 with winter coming on. 5w flows better than 10w (it's about 25% thinner on cold start) which means less engine wear in the log run.

Cheers

Simon
