Knocking Noise.....again

Hey ppl

Need help, again. I recently changed my drivers side CV joint, not the easiest job in the world, and all went fine. Now i seem to be getting a rattling noise when i go over the slightest bump, uneven road, pot hole. from the front suspension. I can only determine it as the same sound that i had when my rear anti roll bar bushes went. The steering seems very light and very vague as well. I have had the car up in the air and everything seems to be in order underneath. no loose parts etc etc. and i have checked the anti roll bar and there seems to be no excess play on either side, and help appreciated ppl! Cheers

i have a similar problem but found it to be something so simple it was imbaracing.

on my car i have hub caps, no alloy rims YET, and the noise goes away once i take the caps off and replace them straight away again.

if you dont have alloys give it a try, if you do then sorry can't help you.

  • 1 month later...

Hey people

I finally found out what was causing my very annoying knocking noise, It turned out to be that one of the rubber seals that covers the brake slider pistons had come away from the seal and was causing the detachable part of the caliper to move ever so slightly and knock the solid part (sorry for my technical jargon)

I took the caliper apart and put the rubber seal back in and all is well :D
