:help: Can anyone out there suggest a way of removing the 3 screws situated under the door mirror housings on an 02 Previa? They appear to be Loctited' in, and I need to remove the housings for painting. As it is they will not budge and the screw heads will just get chewed up if I try any harder with my screwdriver! Cheers.

mole grips?? if you cant get em out, then youll have to mask up the side of the car im affraid. I would suggest having a good go at the screws, get them out, and then change them for new ones.

Hi Kev

Didn't want to try mole grips or drilling them out as Toyota don't list them seperately, and if it goes pear shaped I'd imagine new door mirrors cost a fair bit!!! Had the mirror lenses off and got the housings painted with a bit of careful masking, but I'm also adding indicator lenses to them and can't feed the wiring through to the inside of the door pillars without being able to dismantle the innards. I might try an impact driver next and see if that does it. If not part of the wire might have to run externally which I really don't like the idea of! :crybaby:

i still reckon mole grips mate, if youre going to all the trouble of fitting in indicators, youll defo need them out. Youll probably find that the screws are a metric size and possibly available at B&Q, if not a screw then a bolt.

Well the other problem with this is that they're recessed so mole grips won't get near them! Tried an impact driver which didn't work either so for now I've just painted them and will sort out the indicator bits later (don't want to ***** anything up b4 its ESVA!) Might try and get a pair from a scrappie and mess around with them first.
