Squeal When Reversing

Hi....

my dad has an 03 plate five door rav. Not sure on model but I know it is middle spec.

When reversing with the steeering on more than half lock he gets a squeal.

The steering drive belt has been changed to no avail.

Now my avensis squeals on reverse moves as well and apparantly this is due to plastic ends on the steering rack?

Is this also true for the RAV?

Does anyone else have it?

Has anyone had it fixed?

What did Mr T do to fix it?

Now this is one possibility....Some Toyota brake pads have a small loop of tin at the end , when the pads are getting low ,the tin lug rubs on the disc, its an early warning the pads are worn out, this COULD be the squeal :) .
