Number Crunching... Help Needed !

Ok should be pretty easy but bain not working this morning.....

I have twelve numbers, 1-12 I need to do some playing weith them.....

I need each number to appear in a group 6 times and try not to have it with the same numbers that it was before as far as possible.....

Anyone good with numbers could help out ?????

All will become apparent when I get the numbers back, there is a very good reason for this....

I should have said I need the number to appear in batches of 3 trying as much as possible to not appear with the same numbers in more than one group !!!

What, like this? (only 1-4 completed) ......

each set must have one duplicated number, then pick random 'differences' between the outer numbers, checking for previous pairings. This could be done with a computer program but would take 10 times as long to write as it does to put the numbers down manually.

Sorry buddy I should also have added to make it a tad more difficult we need to put as many gaps between the reoccurance of each numbers appearance.....

As the 12 numbers each represented a member of the karting team we were trying to work it so that everyone got to race with as many different people as possible, we think we've got something that works pretty well and have put the names for each race together, I should have posted on here to say....
