Sorry if this has been posted before but I was looking at photos of an import for sale in Japan and the bonnet Badge read " Midship Runabout"

:D

How embarrasing for all you lot.

Does the UK version have this too??

why is that embarrasing?

Can just see you asking a girl for a drive in your Midship Runabout. Doesnt have quite the same ring as my MR, does it.

The R is definately Runabout, but not too sure about the M. It's either Mid-ship or Mid-engine.

I think you can still get the front Badge (on the bumper of the Mk2) that says what it is. I've seen the odd one here and there with it on instead of the ovals that make up the 'T'!

Edit: Tezza had the link!! Mid-ship Runabout!!

and nobody calls it midship runabout - as you pointed out - hardly anyone knows what it stands for - so it doesnt matter - i dont think its embarrassing though ;)

Older but also vaguely intersting fact is it's called the MRS in France.

Say MR2 in a heavy french accent. Em-Er deux........Merde.

Get the picture :)

Midship, Runabout, 2 seater .. don't see the problem.

Better than all these new car names that mean nothing ..

Ford Exec "I want this car focus group to come up with 2 new names"

Focus Grp "How about Ka and Focus" ..

yeah, great ..

I know a story about the KA .. they wanted to make a better model, and all the others lines had an "si" level in their range ..

Kasi somehow didn't seem right .. :) So they made the Ka2 ..

introducing the Ford Toilet .. hmm, but isn't that their entire range?
