For 210, your prolly better off with a swap to a 4AG-ZE with the uprated pulleys, brothers old MR2 (yes the one I rolled before old members ask) will give about 212Bhp and have the advantage of full toyota engine and supercharger pulling all the time :D

I've been looking at the same kit for my Corolla GXI, just in two minds whether to go ahead and do that, as it seems fairly straight forward to do..

Or to swap to the 4a-gze  i just dont know...

Think the turbo kit is gonna save me a lot of £££, but the engine change would give better results...

If you do decide to go for it, let me know how you get on!

Mike

P.S.

i've emailed the company that sell the kit and they say its $200 off at the moment just to let you know

You ask and you shall receive.

This guy builds the kits all the time and ships worldwide

A 4age or 7afe will handle 6psi boost no probs. But remember you will need the intercooler and

piping on top of this kit.

Also look for honda b-series turbo kit(manifold an all) these fit a 4age head as well with a little mod

i wouldnt run anymore that 3psi into a standard small port 4age head and block ! so it hardly seems worth all the work, but would still like to play with one for fun, its tempting, but maybe a white elephant !

here here . .

Surly the way to go is the 4agze conversion.I dont know how much a turbo conversion is,and as Unity Jon says"it hardly seems worth it" unless you throw another wedge of cash at it making sure the little 1600cc engine dont blow up.£1100 conversion seems reasonable, and if i had the cash it would of been half done by now,and the piece of mind that it came outta a factory where all, well most of the engines were already running is just a bonus..

Although a go in a turbocharged AE92 sounds fun..

1600cc's are solid, am turbo'ing my 1600 (ok mazda block) and can get a decent power increase (dbl standard on the 5)...

The engine should hold as long as it's done properly...

Yeah fair doos, there pretty solid but me,i wouldnt trust myself. If i had a charger id be p****d running standard psi.and id wanna crank it up a notch and for that u need to spend more money.i could be wrong and if i am some one tell me but wouldnt more work need to be done to factory fitted internals to prevent it blowing up/melting or some other way of dying !

  • 2 weeks later...

The blue top motor is good for 7psi w/ standard comp ratio. Stock ecu can be used to a certain point but past that you would need to invest in an apexi safc minimum - somethin like an emanage or power fc would be ideal.
