Mr2 Idle To Fast

i have a 91 mr2 that wants to tickover at 1500rpm when warm everyone i have asked cannot help me as it is an automatic uk car,does anyone have any ideas

Someone should be able to post a photo, it's as simple as turning a screw in the engine bay, not having had a two in a long while now am sure someone here should be able to point you in the right direction :D

is a 2 sec fix though :D

Didnt think the Idle speed was adjustable on the 3S-GE (stand to be corrected on that one though) - you might have a split vaccum hose or Throttle not returning fully,the Inside of the Throttle Body/butterfly might need cleaning with carb. cleaner.

Any Fault codes stored in the ECU ??

the engine is a 3s-fe and the throttle body has been completley removed and fully cleaned i must also point out that sometimes the car runs fine but not very often,i checked the fault codes but apparently if it is an intermitent fault it will not be recorded,i can only think its a sensor but have no idea where to start looking for it

3S-FE or is that a typo error - From what you have said it sounds like the TPS is incorrectly adjusted,not coming back onto the Idle contacts fully hence the high idle speed.
