T3 Alloy Wheel Help Please

Hi there,

I'm currently running from 16' OZ Superleggera's on the my T3, but they do look rather small, so I was thinking about putting a set of 17's on it. However, I'm not planning to lower it at all...will this look ok do you think, or will it affect handling at all? I shouldn't have thought so, as the 16's don't fill the arches whatsoever, but thought I'd better check. Cheers.

Am thinking either 16' OZ Hydra's, as they'll look much bigger than the Superleggeras, or 17' Kahn RSR's...what do you all think please? Will the 17's fit without any hassles? Cheers.

Hi mate

just read the above, I have the same car as yours and I had 17s on before but as your self did not think it filled the arch as i wanted it to so i decided on a set if 18s on a 215/35/18. I also run the car on tte lowering springs, the handeling on the car is a big improvement on the standard car. B)

Cheers mate, except I'm considering 17's, not 18's....only have 16's on the car at the moment! 16's don't fill the arches at all! Have you got any photos of your car on 18's? Cheers.

The 17s won't fill the arches anymore than 16s as the outside diameter will still be the same! In fact the gap will probably look even bigger as even though the rim is bigger, the less depth of black rubber on show gives the impression there's a bigger gap between the wheel and the arch...

I'll post pics of my facelift T Sport (20mm lower than standard Corolla) with 18" Kahn RSS when I get my own laptop back so you can see what I mean...

I've since taken the 18s off (for a cheap quick sale if anyone wants them!?), bought the TTE lowering springs to lower the car another 10mm (a steal on eBay!) and am getting new 17s come Xmas time so I'll then show you the results...

Thanks for your reply mate....I've decided to go for the 17's however, and if its still looks a bit iffy, I'll lower it by 30mm I think. I don't want to affect the handling by putting 18's on it tho, and the 16's just look so puny for the car. The 17's being 10mm wider as well will give it a much better stance I think. Anyway, wheels and Remus box should be fitted by the weekend so will get some photos up then. Looking forward to seeing your car!
