Rav-4 Cold Starts

I've got a 1996 gx and have a strange problem on cold mornings.

When i turn the key in the ignition the engine turns over as normal, but then suddenly acts as if your trying to start with a flat Battery. There will be a click from the righthand side of the dash (around the rear fog light button) and the engine will then fire up and idle fine.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm worried on really cold mornings that it won't start at all!

In what way do you mean trying to start with a flat Battery? As in it turns over slowly?

Mine was slow turning over, and it turned out to just be the Battery that was knackered. New Battery and it fires round!!

By the way, there is a seperate Rav 4 forum within the 4x4 forum. Just have a look at the top of the 4x4 section and you will see it. Some people don't even bother lookin in this section now.

Yup turning over slowly would be the best description. Would assume i have a similar problem to what you had.
