Some Good News And Some Bad News

Well, this morning at 8.30 I took my theory test which lasted until about 9.30 and I have PASSED which of course is brilliant.

The bad news however, just over an hour later (about 10.40) I was clocked doing 40mph in a 30mph zone!

It happened because with my dad in the car, he was sure it was 40mph, and as he has driven in Stevenage for alot longer then I have done, I took his word for it, despite me being sure it was 30mph. Lots of swearing later when we found out the road was 30mph.

If I do get the fine I will contest it because there are NO speed signs anywhere on that road, and the turning I came from gave no suggestion (I joined from a minor road to this major road)

there is very little point contesting the fine. You were clocked and they have proof. You could go to court, but I think they will provide proof that the road was signposted in accordance with guidelines.

And then you wont only get fined, you'll also have to pay court costs.

Don't contest, as you will need a huge supply of Vaseline for the raping they will give you when you are proven guilty.

sorry to bring bad news but its comon that when going from a minor road to a major road that is the same speed limit, there are no signs for the speed limit

the highway code states that if you don't know what the speed limit is, then you should assume 30.

I know plenty of people who have been nabbed in similar circumstances........none of them got away with it.

Luckily I know alot of people who work for the police, and alot of people involved in law so if I do get fined etc I will be in contact with them finding their advice.

Also as for the police dont worry about me, one of the forums I am on regualry, uk cops are nothing, you gotta watch your mouth so you dont have FBI on your doorstep within an hour, it has also been featured on news reports as harbouring terrorists and stuff

haha yeah, apparently when i was in saudi my interent connection was blocked for a while, cause i was using a saudi ip address on an american site...hmmm

and the thing you got to worry about is insurance, the points will go on your driver's permit, which will KILL you for insurance once you pass...and i think if you get 6 points on a permit, you aren't allowed to take the test for a year or something, cant rememeber...
