Help Needed With Buying A Celica Gt4

I’m thinking about buying an early ‘90’s Celica GT4. I’ve read a bit about the car but I don’t know the important stuff, like how easy to live with as an ever day car and what the running costs are like on them.

Also how much should I be looking to pay for a reasonable UK one, or even what the chances are of getting a UK model at all?

Any help would be much appreciated

Alan

If anything the Import cars tend to be in better condition, usually have better performance/equipment.

I've had both UK and imports celica's so i have seen both sides of this coin.

Good day to day car, average MPG but unsure of what that is.

Compare prices on autotrader.co.uk and look at the review on www.parkers.co.uk

But good choice.

Cheers for the responses.

I think it’ll have to be a UK car as I am only 20 so getting insurance on an import could be very difficult. On a UK car I managed to get a quote of about £2000, that’s £1000 cheaper then my fast road golf is costing me at the min :o

having recently become an owner of an import GT4 (91) i can say a couple of things

the import / uk car gave me no problems on insurace, import made no difference, i am even with main stream insurance !!

mpg..... now that a different story, i think i'm getting about 20 per gallon. Not alot, but huge smile.

they go even better once you get your steering aligned !!!!

 Im 20 and my premium for this year is under £1000 3rd part f&f from Adrian Flux.

I have 2 year no claims.

This is on a N Reg ST205 WRC, plus all the mods which i was honest about. And its an import. B)
