Carina 11 Stalling

hi guys, i need help urgently,

i own a 1991 carina 11 GLi, with a 2.0 liter 16valve 3SFE engine. i have been having problems with the way the car fires. it idles properly for a while then in about 5 minutes of driving it starts misfiring and lurching horribly. i changed the spark plugs and HT leads. this didnt solve the problem, then i changed the fuel pump. the problem stopped for about 3 weeks then it started again yesterday, the same thing, iv had my mechanic that changed the fuel pump check it, he says its ok that the problem isnt from there. he doesnt seem to know what else to do since we have tried another Air flow meter and the problem still persists. the other garages i went to are suggesting i do away with the EFI and convert to carburetor.

this isnt appealing to me but it seems like the onli solution at hand. pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
