Im going to be replacing the fig 8 link on my gen6 superstrut its been making some horrible banging i probably will have to change it all soon ££££££££££££ :crybaby: .It looks straight forward to change is it ? :unsure:

If you've changed anything on regular type suspension before then you shouldnt have much problem doing this job i'd say :thumbsup:

you'll probably find that the camber arm it connects to is the suspect knocker.best to change both.its not hard to change them , if its drivers side you have to loosen and drop the sub frame to get the bolt out that holds the arm in place because the sump is in the way :ffs:

or remove the north / south cross member (the one the engine mounts bolt to) and then jack the front of the enigine up gives you enough clearance and saves replacing the aluminium bush on the rear arm.

Thanks for the advise its the left hand side thats gone hopefully thats less hassle to change .I checked out TCB looks to bbe the cheapest will have to put a few pounds together for the rest of the superstrut ill let you know how i get on .

Thanks for the settings got it changed today not to much trouble it didnt want to come off a little gentle nudge did the trick .It didnt work its still knocking you were wright the camber arm will have to be changed and the rubber on tie rod is broken open so its time to open the wallet think i will get away with just doing one side as the car was making the same sound when i was buying it on the drivers side i made him fix it so that id buy it so he changed it must take a look to see how good it is (i didnt know about superstrut being so expensive at the time ) you learn from your mistakes.This site is worth its weight in gold . I will be postiong before and after pictures of my car next week to see what you all think new wheels on wendesday Thanks again fore all the help :thumbsup:

those tie rods wont be doing the knocking ,it will be camber arm 1 thats noisey ,i'd cover it with grease where the rubbers split ,to keep the weather out and save 54 quid
