Cd Player/connect 2 Problem

Basically I removed the cable from my iPod whilst plugged in and there was a little bang (Could have been inside or outside the car but I thought I would meantion it).

I now cant exit the cd changer mode (used to play my iPod) however I can switch and listern to radio and go back to the cd changer mode and listern to my mp3 player, but I cant eject the cd or get into the mode to play it.

(Everything works apart from the cd player)

I've turned the ignition off and on the same problems still exist.

I hope it's just an little electronic gremiln and hopefully it will be gone by the morning if not would disconnecting the Battery for X minutes fix it?

I can't see whats wrong so I would be gratefull to know if this is a common problem and how to fix it?
