Help Wanted Installing A Creative Zen Micro

Recommended Posts

Posted

I own a Creative Zen Micro MP3 player and I am desperate to link it into the stock head unit, does anyone know of a kit that would do the job? I have, obviously, trawled the net without success and changing to a iPOD is not a feasible option.

If I knew the exact pinouts for the CD Changer plug at the rear I could wire it in by utilising the line inputs that are normally used by a the changer but I also need to know which is the control input so that I can fool the headunit in thinking that a changer is connected and therefore it will open up the line input channels to recieve the line output from the MP3 player.

Cheers

I've had a quote for £70 from Halfords for an AUX adaptor from Connects2 (connects2.com)

"Connects 2 adapters provide a cost-effective way of adding portable audio, MP3 or even DVD to your existing factory fitted stereo. Our simple plug in adapter allows you to listen to CD, MD, ipod, MP3 player, Memory Stick and DVDs from your existing factory fitted radio unit via your normal car speakers.."

Previous thread (for iPod but may be still relevant)

I'm planning on getting the Halfords connector I listed above (hopefully for crimbo).

It should plug in the cd multichanger in the back of the head unit then I'll run the cable through to the centre armrest cubby hole and chuck my iPod/phone in there .

I've got an Ipod I can use it for but I also tend to keep a few albums on my phone so once I get a mobile phone adaptor (a couple of quid from eBay of course) I can plug that in as well. :D
