hi

are there any one who knows how to add on an MP3/CDR/CDRW playback facility to the audio?

At present it doesnt play MP3/CDR/CDRW etc.

Can I pick your brains please?

Or does anyone know where it can be done?

Hi I found a way to play MP3 files in the Prius Stereo!!!

I bought an Ipod, and an FM Transmitter!

So there are no wires attached to the stereo. like a specialised audio tape.

All you have to do is tune in to one of the FM Transmitter Frequency(you can choose which frequency you want) and play the i Pod as you normally play.

There is one with a charger and a transmitter attached, so you can have hours of un-inturrepted music!!!

Its cool!

When going a long way (its my wife's car, so she drives it most of the time....) I stick my MP3 (iRiver H320) in the front cupholder and use a cassette adapter which actually works better in the Prius than in any other car I've tried one in (only cost about £4 from Tesco!).

Apparantly, you can buy a fancy adapter from the US that goes in the link between the CD player and the radio head but you have to dismantly a lot of the dashboard to fit it.

iTrips (and the like) are actually illegal to use in the UK. They "broadcast" on a band (VHF band II aka FM) that is not for unlicenced transmissions. But.... they're very low power (almost too low - which is why they don't perform terribly well) and I haven't noticed anyone being prosecuted for using one so I guess you'd have to be very unlucky to be the first :-)

Neil.

Did anyone find a way other than the wireless way to play MP3's on this cd player?

Just burn your cds with Nero Mp3 Disc About 10 to 16 albums on one disc and off you go
