Starter Motor

The starter motor on my 99 avensis 1.8gs is playing up, any ideas where I can get a second hand one, or prices for a new one.

Also, is there any chance of stripping it down and maybe getting it working again!

mind you, after reading some of the posts on here, I am not 100% its that now.

some mention ignition problems, mine will click a couple of times before it actually fires the engine up, and some in here have said same and attributing it to the ignition switch

Also, if possible please, an easy way to remove the rocker cover...the gasket has gone, I removed the 4 nuts on the top, but nothing moved!! is there anything else that needs undoing??

Getting the starter motor/ignition problem sorted out by a toyota garage, but any help regarding the rocker cover removal would be appreciated please

Can't help fella, but good to see a local welshman on here..... therefore try LUCAS in Caernarfon, they did loadsa work on my previous car, on the alternato and starter, and i couldn't fault them.
