New To The Forum - Gen 7 Advice

Hi, I'm new to the forum, having only had my Gen 7 about 3 months. Previously I had:

2001 Rav 4 2.0CDX

1997 Avensis 2.0 CDX

1993 Carina E 1.6 auto

and I also worked at the factory (in IT) for 7 years, so I'm completely Toyota through & through.

ANYWAY...

Got the 2002 celica 1.8 vvti, and was thinking that it would be cool to make it a little more sexy, and look at little better, run a little faster. Any advice on where to start would be greatly appreciated from you knowledgeable people!

I'm about 2 miles from the bubble in the east mids, and was thinking about going to a meet there if anyone has any details, so I can glean info!! Altho a little uneasy about taking my 'stock' celica there cos it'll look rubbish next to other peoples!!

I look forward to any suggstions..

'Ello!

I used to live really close to there... Do they still have internal IT Staff? They any good to work for? Getting bored with what I am doing at the minute, and it has always seemed like a good place to try!

Good move on the Celica, they are lovely!

Without going in to massive money, the best things you can do are a decent induction (Blitz are a good start) to replace the standard air box. Decent Exhaust (the TRD comes top of the league, but its quite expensive). And Optimax all the way.... Should take you to about the 152BHP mark with slightly better pick up on acceleration.

Styling is entirely up to you, but for starters.... If it hasn't got them already, have a look around eBay for some of the official Toyota Dynamic pack skirts - so much nicer than a crappy grey bar along the side. The Veilside ones are nice as well, but the rest of your bumpers won't match then (poor excuse to kit the rest of the car then!!). The TTE Spoiler is nice if you don't have one already, or the more common standard one is also pretty good looks wise. Anything else is a bit garish in my opinion. Also have a look out for a C1 Style Hood Scoop. I just got one for a tenner from Replikit on eBay! :) Also find some new rims. They tend to make the most difference on any car without delving deep in to bodywork stuff.

Upgrade the sound system as well - head unit and all 4 Speakers. Stock sound systems are always a massive let down.

That little lot should kill your bank account for a while!

Welcome to the club, any questions just give us a yell, we're always happy to help!
