K&n Panel Filter

hi guys, i have a toyota corolla e12 1.4vvti, and am thinking about replacing the air filter with a k&n panel filter (for now due to warranty).

i'd like to hear your opinion, preferable from known facts, wheter it is worth the money or not...

will it make any difference, regarding engine sound? and performance wise?
