just got a letter from toyota

needs a new ecu

present 1 can cause steering to go into failsafe altering assistance

any1 else got this letter

must be serious they sent in signed for letter post

Could it be your model was just came off the production line when a problem was noticed?

I have yet to have a letter, though that doesnt sound good!

How long have you had your car?

I remember when my first Yaris had to go in for a recall. I got a big valet and car cleaning kit for my trouble so try and make sure you get the same :thumbsup:

i got mine in july it was made in may if u look on your headlight under bonnet there is a sticker on them saying date made anyway heres letter i got click thumbnail for full size 0.5mb

I got mine at the end of September, I'll check when it was made.

At least it only takes a couple of hours to fix, I'd hate the fuss of waiting or having a hire car for the work to be done.

My mum's MK I Yaris had the recall as well and got the full valet and car cleaning kit as well as a full tank :D

They always seem to send them Recorded Delivery. I suspect it's so they've got there a**e covered in case anyone tries to claim they didn't get a recall notice.

My Prius has been recalled twice now. In both cases the letter had to be signed for.

I have received the following e mail from Toyota after I questioned why I had not yet had this recall notice:

Dear Mr Wilson,

Thankyou for your email regarding the recall on Toyota Aygos.

I have investigated this matter with the service department and have found

that only certain Aygos are being recalled. This is down to certain batches

of Chassis Numbers being affected and not all Aygos built.

The recalls are being done in two batches, the first being the models that

do not have air conditioning and these are letters that have been sent out

to customers. The second batch to be recalled are the Air Conditioning

models and the letters will be sent out shortly to the models within these

certain chassis numbers.

Having looked at the chassis number belonging to your Aygo, we believe that

you will be recieving a letter shortly as it does seem to be within the

batch affected according to the paperwork we have been given on this matter,

and the fact of the delay on the letter is because you have air-conditioning

fitted on your model.

If you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to

contact me or our service department on 01279 654335.

yip i fall in the no air con group so mine first, perhaps most on here went for air con and thats why only me has got the letter

well ive had mine done looks like a new ecu its behind fuse box under bonnet i put some paint on old one too see if it was changed took 90mins and i got a bottle of champayne tank topped up and car cleaned, impressed with it all really bet ford or vauxhall wouldnt be as good
