Since there are LOADS of roadworks everywhere in my town, no matter where I go theres massive potholes, which my car really doesnt like.

Anyway, I hit a pot hole yesterday, and since then ive had a clunking noise coming from the rear drivers shock, I had a look today and the top of the shock has popped through. Ive tried pushing it back through but it keeps popping back up.

So do I need a new top shock mount? or is it the top of the shock is knackered and the whol shock needs replaceing?

Cheers in advance.

I had this happen on a scirocco years ago. Had to replace the whole shock on that. :(

The bush that is bonded into the strut mount has been pushed through. You should replace the strut mount but you could put repair washers on either side of the mount as long as they are a good fit around the top shaft on the shock. They will then hold the bush in place. I did this with mine after I replaced them with TRD ones as I didn't fancy forking out for these again with their price ;)
