hi i have just bought a gt four st205 and have noticed a knock from osf brake, i removed wheel and found brake disc moving on hub/wheelstuds (like disc stud holes too large)the car had genuine discs and pads fittted 5 months ago, ichecked part invoice and front discs have 2 differant numbers t43512-20610 and t43516-20010 can any one tell me if this is correct ,also there are no securing bolt/screws holding discs on to hub?

some cars dont have hub to disc bolts, its tightened when the wheel is placed , if the discs are different you should be able to see visibly also braking would be shocking i'd imagine.the gt4 st205 discs are unique and fit no other motor ;)

hi the brakes feel ok (pedal alittle soft )but osf sometimes squeeks and when i start engine or apply the brakes i get a little knock ive checked bearing and cv/drive shaft ,all ok but with wheel removed i can move disc slightly on wheel studs does this sound right?. i'll phone toyota in morning and check part numbers on a completly differant subject i have to come to a complete standstill to select 1st gear are all gt4s this way?

squeek is common , usually just moisture and overnight rust on discs , mine does the same.pedal is soft due to abs if its fitted.knock maybe superstrut suspension figure of 8 and camber control arm on the way out. you can move the discs with the wheel off , perfectly normal.GEARS - can you select third gear . is first stiff to engage only with the engine running , you may need new gear selector bearings on the gearbox , they have rubber ones as standard with a steel bush in the centre , i changed mine for roller bearings , which can be found on eBay , makes gear changes sooo much easier , there is also a rod under the clutch pedal you can alter as the gt4 is fluid clutch it needs to be spot on in adjustment

left and right discs do have different part numbers. Try new pads first before anything.

The knocking could be worn out suspension

if its superstrut parts you are looking at 450 quid each side for all 3 parts plus labour :crybaby: most common at 60 to 70 k miles , you get a knocking at minus 10 mph then it gets worse and worse. its down to the arm 1 and fig 8 , which will set you back 293 quid plus labour , as it acts as the cars steering its important not to ignore it or 1 day you may regret it.
