Melted Headlamp

Hi

I have just had my first headlamp bulb blow on my 2003 avensis t-spirt and when i tried to remove the bulb the headlamp had at some time got very warm and the bulb holder was very britttle and broke the bulbs were the correct watage any ideas is this a design fault ?????? please help as i expect 2 headlamps are going to be expensive !!!!!!! :ffs:

Assuming that the bulbs were Toyota standard-fit, I would suggest you have a valid warranty claim (you still appear to be within the 3 year period). If outwith warranty period, suggest you look at E-bay. I've seen Avensis headlights advertised, and don't think they sold for an excessive amount....

Headlights seem to be a major issue with new style Avensis. Mine were replaced due to condensation within 1 month of purhcase.

Its a common problem guys, they've modified the headlamp now. Go see your local dealer if its still in warranty

Top marks for my dealer (inchape toyota burton) replaced both my headlamps straight away as there is a design fault first class service
