my @ key is now shift then number 2 , my original @ is now " . tried in keyboard settings and language bar , cant seem to fix it , anyone ideas. ta.

Which version of windows are you using ? If XP go to control panel - regional and language options - languages - details - settings, if it shows UK and US keyboard you can highlight US and press the remove button,if both keyboards are showing the input language can be changed by holding down the shift button ( i think ) for a few seconds so this might have happened to you.
