Noise When Pulling Away

When I pull away in 1st gear I am getting a noise from what seems to be front driver side wheel. As engine takes up drive there are 2 small thuds followed by a further louder thud, then car appears to drive ok.

Any ideas what this could be? I have tightened wheel nuts and checked tyres etc. Any advice greatfully received.

Hi There -

If your car has VSC and TRC then it is most likely the system's self-check your hear. The Verso does that as well. It sounds like a 'clonck' sound when first starting after a long time of standing. After that, you don't hear it anymore while driving.

Regards

Erwin

Thanks everyone for there advice, Problem has been found. After earlier gearbox problems it appears the rear engine mount wasnt properly secured by the Toyota garage and bolt has come loose causing engine to rock back and forth when accelerating.

Hopefully garage will fix as a warranty job
