its a bolt about 2/3rds the way up on the forward face of the gear box, 22 or 24mm if i remember correctly.

it hasnt got a very deep head to be very careful not to rag the bolt head.

to do the job, put car on axle stands - make sure its on flat ground and even.

get under and crack the nut with an extension bar - the drain plug is on the bottom of the gear box.

drain it - refit drain plug - once filler bolt is out, use a 2 ft piece of garden hose, put it in the hole and run it vertical up into top of engine bay for ease of filling and a spout filler/cut plastic bottle to pour the oil into jamming hose into spout/neck.

the gearbox is full of oil when it dribbles out of the filler hole - that's the level.

I can't remember the grade off the top of my head - it's in the owners manual if u have one. get the best oil you can and get the most modern with a good APi rating - the old rating is probably obselete and will have been superceded.

cheers

Not sure if the GT4 gearbox takes the sames fluid as the n/a box, but the n/a can take either API GL-3 or GL-4, or Dexron 2 or 3 ATF fluid.

Apparently 89 and earlier cars Dexron 2 or 3 is used, and '90 onwards 75W90 is used. I don't know why they changed though (but any should be good enough). Again, I don't know if any of this applies to the GT4 box.
