My Yaris was taken in for some work to the bumper and bonnet after a minor collision.

Went to pick it up and they seem to have done a good job on the bodywork. However, the display where the stereo is (the one that shows the clock, radio station, temperature etc) has stopped working.

I can switch the stereo on and off using the power button at the bottom of the centre console and also change the station, but cannot change the volume or AM/FM as all those buttons are next to the display. Also, the controls on the steering wheel dont work either.

Anyways.....garage say its common in front impact damage in Yaris. I told them stereo + display was working perfect after collision, and for the week after collision before I gave them the car. So its a new fault that has developed since they have had the car.

Does anyone know if this is commom or what the problem might be? They are gonna speak to the insurance assessor and get back to me. Its just annoying that theres always a new problem when one has been fixed with these garages.

Thanks for the help.

check the wiring behind it, to do that you'll have to remove part of the dash around the cd player. Check the yaris 'how to' section on removing the dash if you'r unsure.

I think they must have left a wire out especially if it was working before hand.

Don't let them tell you that nonsense mate, I work for Motor Insurance and they shouldn't say things like that!
