First off, make sure the window is clean first. Give it a good scrub and polish.

Then, get a bowl with some soapy water in it ( fairy liquid will do nicely ).

Wet the side of the Sunstrip that you want to stick to the window with the soapy water and roughly put it in place. The soapy water will help it slide around, so you can position it exactly where you want it.

It's now in place, but probably has air bubbles behind it. No problem. Using a cloth ( or a credit card is even better ), wipe over the back of the strip- from the middle to the edges, forcing the air and excess water out from behind.

You'll be left with everything in place and looking spiffy in no time. Wipe any excess soapy water off the screen and strip with a dry cloth and you're done.

Any ideas what would be a good way to measure it up so I can cut the write size hole to fit the rear view mirror....

Stick a couple of sheets on newspaper together. Then stick to screen with some sellotape. Mark everything out with a marker pen, then place it on your sunstrip. Measure it up and your done ;)

or just shove the sunstrip the right way up on the outside of the windscreen, then cut round(with a knife/scalpal) the edge of the glass.

That way it will fit perfectly on th inside then.

I wouldn't cut round it while its on the windscreen though, I'd maybe mark round it with a pen and then take it off and cut round it!
