Central Locking

Hello Every one.

i have just purchased a second hand Avensis S reg. When i press the lock button on my key fob the doors do not lock and the lights flash twice. now according to the car manual is states that the lights should plash onces when the alarms comes on and twice when it goes off. also even when you put the key in the door and turn it it still only locks / unlocks the drivers door. the doors will central locking can only be worked from the button on the inside of the drivers door.

Can anyone please help me. because i am very rarely in the car on my own and its annoying when i have to check that everyones door is locked. like they used to do in the middle ages. :D

Cheers

Sounds as if you have a similar problem to me. See above post. Mine only unlocks the drivers door, but will not stay locked. After a minute or two, it unlocks it'self. All four doors. The car is insecure, nothing I can do. What crap electronics to allow this to happen.

i had the same problem about 2 years ago, mine started acting up after a very hard frost. I managed to get round the problem using the key or the internal locking button. Very annoying. Fortunately about 6 months later it righted itself, weird or what. I put it down to cold weather and possibly condensation entering the electrics in the door locking mechanism

Seems to be a commom problem if you go through the forum page. Toyota recommended changing the locks at the time, cost £600, you must be kidding. Best of luck
