Lambda Sensor For Carina 1.8

I need to replace the Lambda sensor on my Carina 1.8 CD auto. The engine management warning light came on after a local contractor jump started the vehicle. This seems to be a fairly common occurance looking back at the forum history. I can't help thinking this would not have happened if the contracter had put a load on the electrics (heated rear screen, lights etc) before disconnecting his jump leads. I usually do this as a matter of course when jump starting to reduce the risk of a surge damaging the ECU. Unfortunately I was away so my wife had to call the breakdown service. Anyway, does anyone know if the automatic 1.8 and manual 1.8 use the same sensor? there has been much discussion about these sensors before but I am still unclear as to whether the manual and auto use the same sensor or not. Any hep appreciated.
