Hi, just wondering what the top left light mean on the dash its yellow looks like car with headlights on? came on today for the 1st time ?

its a pic telling you that you have a brake light out .

I had that light come on not long ago and i found it was only when i braked, then my m8 saw smoke coming from the back of my car. There is a very small sensor (and i still have no idea what it is) just under the back bumper on the left side of the car and that is what was smoking due to a loose wire. Put the wire back in and it solved the dash light problem.

Does anyone know what this sensor is or what it does?
