1.4 D4d Engine, Burning Oil?

Hey guys, anyone who has a corolla 1.4 D4D ever noticed if it burns much oil?? An uncle of mine yesterday was leaving home to make a 300km trip, goes check oil level, and... WOW!! no oil in the measurer (don't know what's the english word for it :lol: ), it has about 12.000km, i think it can't be normal...

I have since July 2005 a Corolla 1.4D-4D M-MT, with km.6000, and I can say to you that my Corolla doesn't burn too much oil! After km.6000 the level on the small bar is gone down only cm. 1 from the maximum mark. :)

I think that your uncle have to go to the Toyota dealer as soon as possible!

I've had one a while. I've done nearly 20,000 miles and it doesnt burn a drop of oil, my partner has an 02 Avensis D-4D and that doesnt burn any oil whatsoever either. No problems at all from the engine.
