ive got a 94 carina e.

when i turn off my car and then switch it bak on, the clock has reset and also the stereo resets everything i.e. station, cd track, time... also when the car is locked...the alarm does not engage (the red light doent flash). this all happened after i tried to install a stereo myself...and blew the fuse for radio. (YES I KNOW I SHUDNT HAVE DONE IT MYSELF!)

i replaced fuse but these problems still occur, so obviosly ive blown the memory somehow. how do i regain it?

ALSO, NEONE WITH A HAYNES MANUAL FOR THIS CAR, PLEASE CHEK IF THEERE ARE DETAILS ABOUT THIS IN IT AS I AM CONSIDERING BUYING ONE FROM Halfords!

make sure you check "all" your fuses are ok first might not be just one fuse that has blown, theres 2 sets of fuses one under the bonnet and one by driver footwell, i noticed on my installation of a new stereo a 15 amp inline fuse in a white casement behind the sterio's hole, check thats ok, the memory comes from your plus of your Battery so it must be a fuse somewhere or a wire that isnt connecting.

hope this helps :)

wherebout is the fusebox thats under the bonnet? i have chekced all fuses in footwell and they are all fine. also...as far as i can remember...there was no fuse behind the stereo when i was installing it!

Did you cross over the wires at one of the stereo connections to make it a permenant live for the new stereo?

If so, it'll need changing back
