New Avensis - Clutch Life

I am disappointed to find that I am starting to experience clutch slippage in my New Avensis ('03 plate, 1.8VVTi T3-S).

Yes, I am rapidly approaching 70,000 miles (even though the car is only 2.5 years old), but the overwhelming majority of this mileage has been sedate motorway driving, which I dont feel has put much demand on the clutch.

I bought the car a 1 year old with 14,000 on the clock, hence dont know how it was treated in its first year, however I have never had a car start to lose its clutch so early.

The slippage is not consistent however i.e. half the time I pull away in first gear its not evident.

Anyone else had an experience like this?

Any known issues?

My Avensis T-3S is 3 years old is March 06, the clutch has just been replaced at 32000 miles (under warranty).

was your car a hire car if so clutch use in the first 14 k seems the culprit
