Headlamps Light Suddenly Dims

I've noticed that the intensity of my headlamps suddenly dims (very slightly) from time to time... then it slowly increases again... until the next slight drop. The same phenomenon happens sometimes with the instrument panel light (Optitron): a very very slight and sudden reduction of the light intensity, randomly and not often. It's similar to what may happen at home with lamps and lights when there is some voltage fluctuation on the mains... Anyone with this kind of problem? Mine is a 2004 1.8 Avensis wagon auto.
