i have a J reg celica GT-I 16. Just a bit confused as to what the power , torque etc is. Also a little bit of imput on what people think of these cars.

The engine says 3S-GE on it . Also it doesnt have a CAT on it and all the exhaust is orginal toyota. I have also noticed that some of the egines casings have yamaha stamped on them , is this normal .

The car is genuine uk released one not import. Was bought brand new from toyota, i have the orginal receipt and i know the guy.

Any ideas on when to service it aswell , it has 62.000 miles. No smoke, noises etc, starts first click .

any suggestion info etc would be aprreciated greatly

many thanks

Rob

~150->160bhp ..

ALL the 3S series is made my Yammi .. don't worry ;)

there are 3 variants you need to worry about, the "FE" - 120bhp economy engine, the "GE" the 160bph sporty one, and the "GTE" the "turbo super ninja nutter" one (in MR2's and GT4's).

Servicing? Have you thought about DIY ? It's not hard, and saves buing vasoline so Mr T(oyota) doesn't hurt you too much ;)

Doing the servicing is fine, i have a fully equiped garage , gas analalysers, fault code readers ,computerised engine diagnostics etc. wouldnt pay to have it done..

I am looking into getting some mod bits for it , to make it a bit faster , its in real good nick . but when you boot it it seems to get to around 5K on the tacho pasuses a little and then delivers the rest of the power ( nice and smoothly ) interested in sorting this out
