Please Help, Need Boost Gauge Advice :(

GT-FOUR

Howdy guys.

I spent all night looking at some great web sites, but cant find 'specific' details on how to install a simple boost gauge :crybaby::unsure:

As some of you will know, I have just got this GT-Four and I feel that theres boost problems, car doesnt feel no where quick enough, so today I have been out and purchased a Boost Gauge and a Pod.

Like I said, I have read all I can on how to install a Boost Gauge and still cant fathom it  things like behind the manifold, as embarrasing as it is I havent got a clue what it means lol, I have taken some pics to show you and will explain my dilema.

INSTALLATION

My first question is, when I eventually get the pipe from the boost gauge from the car under the bonnet, where about should I use the t-piece, and what pipe should I tee into ? I was wondering if it was one of these two ?

ROUTING

This is the location of where I want to install the boost gauge in its pod, however I cannot find a way of getting the gauge pipe from there into the engine bay whatsoever ? I have looked under where the accelerator and brake peddles are etc and cant find a way through the 'firewall' is it? is there an easy way to do this ?

FAULTY PERHAPS

OK other issues I have with the gauge and pod are these.

1. The gauge isnt resting its needle at zero, could this be a problem and give me a faulty reading ? how about your gauges, do they all sit at zero ?

2. The gauge did fit the pod initially, but when I put the brass connector at the end and tightened it with a adjustable spanner and it wouldnt go no further, now the gauge doesnt fit the pod, any ideas on what I could do here ?

Thats it guys, any advice on how to fit it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers.

Matt :)

you should have a separate brass nut . To house the hose into the dial , not that double ender one.

mine sits at bang on zero , but yours is one of those FFS gauges - buy a gauge made by gauge makers not max muppet styley

First look here for fitting guide

gtfours.co.uk

Under "how to" then "Fit a boost gauge"

The pipes you pointed out are for the PCV system, I wouldn't use these..

As for the gauge not reading zero that'll be because it's a mechanical gauge and is set to be zero at sea level hence readin slight over as you not a sea level..

I have read that gtfours.co.uk link but thats not for my model car, the engine is different and therefore when I look under bonnet nothing is the same am still clueless.

Nevermind I'll figure it out.

Cheers.

Thanks GT4 BOOSTER.

So I now know where I will be plumbing in the boost gauge pipe, into the first pipe which you have coloured :)

Also on that link theres one with blue tape round it ? so I shall replicate this unless you tell me otherwise.

Cool thats major part sorted :D

I dont know what the 'ere' text ment ?

So now all I need to do is get the boost pipe from drivers side dash to the engine bay, I will just start removing trim and see if I can find access..

THANKS A LOT, Seriously appreciated, give me sommat to do all day tomorrow lol.

Matt :D

the ere is the manifold in the earlier post painted white, its not blue tape its a blue t-piece between the 2 pipes . look for a rubber grommet in the bulk head , like where the loom goes in or the accelerator cable.
