Can anyone tell me in laymans terms what's the difference a 1994 SS-1 4WS and a 1994 SS-2.

Easy now i only drive them.

ss1 = Displacement, cc 1998

Engine model 3S-FE

Max.power 140 bhp ish - 4ws is 4 wheel steer , which can be a nightmare and expensive to fix ( not many know anything about it ) AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE if i were you - IMHO

ss2 = Displacement, cc 1998

Engine model 3S-ge

Max.power 173 bhp ish - rock solid engine this 1 , built like a tank , this is the 1 to buy.IMHO

I didn't realise they put 4ws on any of the gen6 celicas. But yes, avoid it at all costs.

The ss2 has the 'sports' engine variant, the ss1 has the 'economy' engine variant.
