my mate works for an insurance company, theyve got 300+ yaris's on the books and only 1 has been stolen. and thats cos the daft bugger left his engine running while popping into the shops.

i don't know to much but it's got a CAT 1 as standard so that helps and also things like dead locks and stuff.

Whatever it's harder to nick than your average car.

Toyota are known for their security...one of the lowest Theft rates of any make of car.

YTS... Dead-locks...always remember to "double lock" your car to activate the dead-locking

Transponder keys...makes it much more difficult to Hot wire.

Alarm.....noise making device....scares away the crows.

Steering lock...use it, it's free and easy.

and don't leave you car with the engine running...illegal for one....idiotic for another..these types of people who make the preiums so high!

At the end of the day most people steel cars for ram-raiding...if so they need to be sturdy and have a big boot! (to put your loot in when reversing through the store windows)

or Joy riding..The Yaris is still not really Seen as sporty.... so the "kids" tend to go for the known GTI's.

In other words, its lack of image lends to the security measures...

Image Style Setters - we are individual and not part of the X/Nation army of Corsas/Golfs/Saxos/Fiestas/Escorts etc etc etc etc.

+ the average boy racer really cant afford a YTS - specially since they are new to the car world, cant pick up cheap 5th handers.

No offence intended to the others

Hi everyone

Forget car alarms this is what you need?? I remember awhile back i was out walking with the wife. And i saw a black corsa with the windows slightly down. And in the car was the biggest bloody rotweiler i have ever seeing. It was just laying down in the back set. I thought dam!!

Latter on that night returning home from are walk the same car parked up and yes the dog was still in there. I thought that this dog must be left in the car to protect the car. Well know one is going to seal that car in a hurry. Because if they try it god :help: them :D

well i had the old one nicked it was taking from dublin city center

and this is how we think the done it

They First smashed the window then the hoty wired the car now at this point the car wont start so what you then do is tow the car or push the car above 15mph and the Immobiliser will shut down and the car starts on the hot wire

now i got the car back after 2 days and 4500 grand worth of damage later but the only tyhing they took was the ecu and the tool bok in the boot

why the ecu from a 1 lt yaris i dont know ?
