Here's the Panasonic Toyota F1: http://home.iprimus.com.au/skywriter/car%2...0f1%20front.jpg

Here's the 1967 Monza-winning Honda: http://www.tsf1.com/assets/full_product_images/TP007637.jpg

Are these Japanese F1 cars pretty much all red? I think so, yes.

Am I correcting you now? More or less, but there are mostly white

with red cars and sometimes mostly red with white cars

Did I do the Googling? Yes.

Why? Because he who asserts must prove, even though I haven't

looked for the Evo article stating that the WRC champion Evo was

all red because that's Japan's racing color.

These were the colours allocated by the sponsering newspaper in something like 1902, so you see sponser-ship is nothing new, several have altered since.

I thinhk that the US was either red before or after the agreement, hence the Panoz's at Le Mans in that colour.

Source:- Autosport 1955

Originally, national colors were as follows:

France was blue

Germany white

Belgium yellow

Britain green

America red.

The fact that no Americans made much of an impact in Europe resulted in red being taken over by the Italians - which is why today Ferraris are red.

German cars were white until 1934 when Mercedes-Benz decided to save weight by not painting its racing machines and Ferdinand Porsche, the Auto Union designer, decided to follow suit because he had minimalist tendencies. And so Germany's national color has become silver.

When American cars did race, such as Dan Gurney's Eagles, the color scheme was typically blue/white stripes.

Japan, with Honda's 60's foray in to F1 were white.

what happened is during a bike race the triumph just rode off the track and never came back the rider was given a big pay off by a jap manufactuer, this is as the !Removed! couldnt figure out how the brits were getting so much power out of our 2 stroke engine, so they stole one, hence the end of our bike industry

Good thing too........unreliable, poor handling, leaking oil all over the highway...........the British Bike industry could never have come up with anything as good as the CBR600 or the R1

Too bad Toyota doesn't do WRC.

They did do for years!!!!!! There cars were white.... but again that could have been more down to Castrol sponsorship...

Like I say, and have said all along... traditions are thrown out of the window with commercial sponsorship!!!!
