Suspension Knock - Safe?

Ok, right. My driver side front suspension is knocking.

Im going to try to get it into my garage in the new year, but until then i'd like to keep driving it.

I've had the wheel off and checked everything. All seems pretty solid and i cant see any play anywhere.

Is it safe to continue driving with the knock?

Cool, just ordered the new parts & new bolts etc from Toyota. £389 all in :D Gotta love 15% Gold Member discount

Just gotta wait till they come in next week and i'll do the swap over myself as looking at the diagrams and what i saw when i took the wheels off it doesnt look too difficult.

Just the two sections, didnt bother with the banana shaped bit as i may not even need it.

But yes, all new bolts and everything

Im sure the banana shaped bit will be fine as its the other two bits that take all the weight

oh dear

But! Toyota is walking distance from my house, how much would the postage etc be on the parts? a fair bit i'd guess because they are quite heavy. Would be at least £30 i'd say.

And is that price inc vat? Would i get then before the end of next week? I really wanna do this job before i go back to work.

 Ok so yes i am stupid, but it wasnt too late. I cancelled the order with toyota and get the parts from TCB

Plus they said the parts will be here tomorrow.

I shall now go and stand in the corner and hang my head in shame.

I never knew Toyota made such a mark up on parts, you learn something new every day

Also they have a used gearbox for £300.....humm that will do nicely!

You know that getting the ball joints off can be a right pain in the **** don't you, Kris the guy that runs GTFours.co.uk had to use a press and 2 tonnes of force to get one off

he wont have to worry , seeing as he is doing both parts , they wont need splitting.to part the camber arm from the steering bracket, simply rip open the rubber and a sharp blow with a cold chisel and hammer will pop it off.

lee if you get stuck , it will be with 1 bolt , it dont clear the sump , either loosen the 3 or 4 sub frame bolts and lever it down till you get the bolt out , or you can jack up the engine so i am told ?

i had the knock , cured mine instantly.:thumbsup:
