Strange warning light on Corolla

I have a 1991 Toyota corolla SE Limited, 1.5 L fuel injection.

I noticed a red warning light on my dash that looks like a diagram of heat rising from a rectangular shaped box that looks like a bottle lying on its side with 2 necks, one to the left and the other to the right. (It's hard to describe). Someone told me that it sort of resembles a muffler.

Could someone tell me what this light means? It comes on when you turn the ignition and remains until you shut off.

I can't seem to attach the drawing, sorry.But i have done a crude drawing below. By the way, my friend has a mazda familia with the same warning light but his has the word 'heat' written in the symbol. Hope this helps.
