i agree 150BHP is luke warm, but the new yaris t-sport is now a direct replacement for the mr2 and celica.

Warm hatch maybe, but with almost 50% more power than the outgoing T-Sport, even considering the extra weight, it will be fairly fun...

Can't wait for the VVTLi version though :P

They are bringing out a replacement for the Celica & MR2 anyway - and it aint the Yaris T-Sport!

hmm by what autotrader say about taking on clio etc..... no chance!! with a 1.8 and that weight.

The new mr2 fast version has a 1.8 and thats lighter than a yaris mk2. the 0-60 7.6 ish

I guess the de-tuned 1.8 is the best way to get below the new emissions requirements.

I thought the word on the replacement for the MR2 and Celica was a hybrid due in 2007?

i was wondering if vaxhuall was gonna make a corsa vxr , should be a good one despite the new corsa putting on abut of weight ;) .

anyway 150bhp from a small car would be good, mean the 150bhp vag engines seem to be good, tho they are turbo , but if the yaris is staying N/A then thats an impressive power output especially for a small car , tho not gonna worry the cooper s even if the yaris engine will be turbo'd ;) .

doesnt look anything special mind, just a yaris lowered with some nice alloys , just hope the seats are propa supported seats and not put similar seats like in the other versions .

The current YTS has a top speed of 118mph and they are saying a 1.8 150bhp will do 125mph?

nah aint seen the vxr, didnt think they'd bother with a pocket rocket corsa , but have seen a pic of the new corsa on parkers and it looks fat like the yaris .

125mph would be a limit to what the car can handle ;) . but thoses figures are never accurate, you could probly reach 135 or even 140mph at a push
