i saw on the peaugot 107 site that u can get a glove box lid as an accessory, so is there one for the aygo? because i havent seen one anywhere on the net, but i also figure the peaugot one might fit the aygo too, is it worth asking peaugot for one?

Yes it's from the Peugeot Forum in France.

It costs 42 euro in France.

Response from Pug UK -

Dear Mr Wilson

Thank you for contacting us regarding the glove box accessory for the 107.

It is our understanding that apart from the steering wheel and seat covers the interiors of the 107 and Toyota Aygo are identical. We have contacted the assembly plant to verify this but unfortunately they have they not yet responded, possibly due to closure over the holiday period.

We are happy to order the 107 glove box lid for you for £39 – on the understanding that if we find the accessory does not fit we will refund you £34 , with the balance of £5 used to cover our administration costs in ordering and returning the part and also for our technicians time to asses your vehicles compatibility.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to progress this order.

Got myself a glovebox lid off eBay for £32 inc. P&P (the seller was called '106parts'), and fitted it today and am very happy with it. The part is good quality, it fits perfectly and fitting it was easy.

I left out the part which acts as a support for if you rest something on it when its open, because it requires drilling into the interior trim which I wasn't willing to do. It isn't necessary anyway.

I also purchased a 107 glove box lid. Toyota have only just recently released a their own glovebox lid as part of an accessory package for the Aygo blue. The toyota glove box lid handle matches the dimpled design found on the interior door handles. It fits and closes more solidly that the pug version, but does not have a cup holder.

The toyota one looks & fits better (no drilling required), but the 107 glove box lid is more practical

The 107 one looks OK though and does the job well, which is just to cover up your belongings and keep things tidy.

I don't see the need for a cup holder in a glovebox lid myself, the car already has two of them. I can't make use of the practicality of the 107 lid anyway, because I didn't fit that support thingy which involves drilling a hole in the interior trim.

For the interests of the other forum users, do you have any idea how much Toyota are charging for the genuine Toyota glovebox lid, if I were to order one from the parts desk at the dealership? I am hoping its a lot more than the £32 the 107 cost.

As of February 2008, the price for a Toyota Aygo glovebox lid from my local dealer is £28 - or £50 including fitting!

... Naturally I decided to fit it myself!

Fitted the Aygo glove box lid I found on e-bay today, took about 2 minutes. Just 2 screws 2 fit and the support string popped into the pre-drilled hole in the dash ;)

(just make sure you order the correct one for Right Hand Drive)

My wife P/ex'd her 3-year old Ayg+ 5-dr, on 16/01/09, for an Aygo Platinum, complete with glove compartment lid, which is completely reliable. It has a rectangular dimpled release catch that you pull out, as it hinges at the top.

A newer version later became available, which looks fairly similar, being a dimpled catch of the same size, but there is a lip at the bottom, and you use this to SLIDE the catch down, to release it.

Perhaps the deletion of the lid from some models, is just pennypinching, like the lack of a passenger-side interior light switch:-- also, if you buy it as a non-standard fitting, it won't have warranty cover, and previous lids were a right nightmare for Toyota.

Hi guys, I've noticed there are now two gloveboxes for Aygo. The old version and the new version (the one with facelift).

But my Aygo is the old version of the car.

Does anyone know if the new glvoebox is compatible with the old version of Aygo?

I want to buy the new version (I read here that the old glovebox is a nightmare and opens randomly) and I don't want to make a mistake buying the wrong version.

Can confirm it fits, having bought and fitted one.

Yes it is indeed 100% fully compatible.
